About the Scholarship
The Lori Bracey Myles Memorial Scholarship was created to honor a woman whose life reflected compassion, faith, excellence and service.
Lori believed in showing up fully; for her family, her faith, her community and her work. She was a woman of strength and warmth, someone who encouraged others quietly but powerfully.
Through this scholarship, L & M Physician Consulting Services seeks to support students who embody those same values, students committed not only to academic achievement, but to integrity, leadership and meaningful impact.
The Lori Bracey Myles Memorial Scholarship is more than a financial award. It is an investment in future leaders who carry light into every space they enter.
“We are proud to carry Lori’s legacy forward by investing in the next generation.”
A native of Canton, Mississippi, Jalan J. Sanders is a proud graduating senior of Canton High School Class of 2026. Known for his determination, leadership, and commitment to excellence, Jalan has worked hard to balance academics, personal growth, and community involvement while preparing for the next chapter of his life. Demonstrating strong academic potential, he earned a 20 composite score on the ACT, including an impressive 28 in the math section, reflecting both his analytical abilities and passion for numbers. His experiences throughout high school have shaped him into a motivated young leader with a passion for helping others and making a positive impact in his hometown.
Following graduation, Jalan will attend Hinds Community College in Raymond, Mississippi, where he plans to major in Business Accounting. With a strong interest in finance, business management, and entrepreneurship, he hopes to build a successful career in accounting while using his education to uplift and inspire others. Jalan believes education is not only a pathway to personal success but also a tool to strengthen communities and create opportunities for future generations.
Dedicated to mentorship and community service, Jalan is passionate about giving back to the youth in Canton and encouraging young people to pursue their goals despite challenges they may face. After completing his studies at Hinds, he plans to continue his education at Jackson State University to earn his accounting degree and further prepare for a successful future in business and leadership.
